Many people simply assume that Pinterest makes no sense for their company. Especially if you’re a man, you should stay away from Pinterest completely. Well, you could be making a big mistake.
When people think of Pinterest, they probably think of recipes, home decor, or some kind of craftsmanship. There’s so much more when it comes to Pinterest. There are pins and boards that cover a wide range of topics.
For example, think of a theme that you would never think of being considered at all. Take fantasy football, for example. After doing a quick search for “fantasy football” on Pinterest, you may be surprised to discover that fantasy football content actually exists. Most of it is focused on Fantasy Football call-up parties, but there is still some content.
If you have a Fantasy Football account, do you want to spend a lot of time with Pinterest for business? Probably not, but that was just to give an example of the variety of content available on Pinterest.
Another example of something you wouldn’t expect to find on Pinterest is video games. For example, you’ll find a lot of content on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and more. A lot of it has to do with the artistic side of games and do-it-yourself projects to create enclosures for your systems and things like that, but there are still a lot of topics on Pinterest that you can deal with even if you have a video game blog.
So how do you know if your niche is something that makes sense when you approach Pinterest? Well, one way is, of course, to look at their website and see what kind of content is already available on the platform.
Another way is to type in your search terms on the Pinterest website, type them in slowly, and see if the predictive text suggests related topics to complete your search. This serves as an indicator that people there are actually looking for those words or phrases. If you get several different words to finish typing, it’s a great sign that you’re on the right track to find something that people are looking for on the Pinterest website.
