It’s that time of year again! As summer draws to a close and shorts, tank tops and flip-flops are withdrawn for the season, the cool, fresh air can only mean one thing: Autumn is just around the corner. Add some warmth and flavor to your home by capturing the feel of the season with these five fun DIY fall decorations.

Wall Sticker

Start the new season with an autumn wall decoration. Light up the living room, family room, or any other room in the house that needs a little autumn whistle. Follow the different shapes of the leaves in applications of shells and stick walls of different colors, such as brown, copper, golden yellow, and rust. Use a pencil to draw in a few swirling lines to simulate the wind blowing the leaves around the house for a unique and beautiful fall decoration; apply some black paint on the pencil to define the markings.

Autumn Wreaths

Add a little spice to the front door with a fall wreath. Just buy a foam head, berry branches, vines, and fake leaves from the local craft store. Make sure the leaves have different shades of gold, red and brown. If the foam wreath is white or has a light color, spray paint over it. Tie the branches and leaves to the foam wreath with a glue gun. Be careful to move quickly, as the glue is hot but tends to dry quickly. Add a bow or a few sunflowers to add an extra touch.

An impressive centerpiece as part of the autumn décor will draw the attention of everyone in the room. Be creative and imaginative at the same time by transforming an ordinary old balloon into a spectacular work of art. Separate the balloon’s hemispheres and fill each one with colored leaves, fire pineapples, small pumpkins, apples, and seed capsules. Place one centerpiece in the living room and the other in the dining room.

Acorn napkin rings

Add a little culture of autumn life to the dining room table by making acorn rings. Walk around the countryside and pick some acorns; you’ll train both your creativity and your body! Drill small holes in about 10 acorns for each napkin ring. Wire the acorns in alternating order from top to bottom so that the acorns fit well together. Twist the ends of the wire and cut off the excess.

Decorating Autumn Windows

Beautify any window with miniature wreaths with autumn decorations. Collect various natural elements such as twigs, berries, fir cones, and leaves. Stick hot branches in a square shape. Buy small wreath foams or cut circles from cardboard and wrap the circles with tape before attaching the decorations to the wreath. Hang the new creations in the window.

Embrace the fall season by decorating your home with an autumn makeover. Simple but natural fall decorations can give any apartment or home a warm, earthy look that lasts all season.
