Christmas DIY Dollar Tree Rustic Farmhouse Table Decor

Betws-y-Coed always seems to have a charming feel, surrounded by lush green forests and beautiful views as the gateway to Snowdonia National Park. During the Christmas season, the town comes alive when visitors and residents celebrate the holidays in style. As one of the UK’s premier artist colonies, the range of products and crafts on offer certainly sets standards – and the entertainment during the town’s main event in the first week of December is simply fantastic.

This event – Nadolig Betws-y-Coed Christmas – provides entertainment especially for children with their own Santa Claus camp. The tent is full of arts and crafts activities, a snowman tent, and Santa’s grotto at the other end. Of course, where would Santa be without his trusted elves who provide entertainment and guide children to the grotto to visit Santa himself? Next to the camp, you can meet the magical Reindeer Dancers, Vixen and Cupid, who have been waiting all year to meet everyone. The Lantern Parade, also held as part of this event, is always a highlight, where you can see some of the most amazingly shaped lanterns. The parade, which begins in the memorial hall, tours the town and is a wonderful way to reach the community singers. Nothing says more about Christmas than singing carols around the lanterns in a festive community.

To complete the Christmas event in Betws-y-Coed, you can see an exciting fireworks display at Cae Llan in the center of town. The fireworks, which usually take place on two afternoons of the event, are very entertaining and certainly give the event a magical ending.

The village shops are open late into the night at this time of year and you can buy some of the best gifts and unique handmade products in Wales. Originality in products has always been the strength of the area in this beautiful town. A nice little shop in the area that sells wonderful personal gifts is Candles Power. This small candle shop is usually open late and makes art with its products, handmade to order. Chris and Ash have been professionally melting, making and customizing candles by hand for almost 30 years and have even created a candle for Pope John Paul on his visit to Wales, suitable for all seasons.

The Betws-y-Coed Gallery displays the major works of art of some of Wales’ most talented artists. Their work, consisting of originals, photographs, framed and unframed prints, aims to provide quality art to the people and visitors of Wales. During the Christmas holidays, the artwork will be on display, showing the best that Wales has to offer. The gallery also has original handmade jewelry on display throughout the year, which could make shopping easier when choosing something special.

Perhaps a Cwmni Cacen Gri candy would be an ideal gift for you. This small Welsh cake company sources their ingredients locally and promises you can’t get anything fresher. All the cakes are baked daily and the variety will make you want to take them home. The bakery is also a great place to stop and have a bite to eat, and a very satisfying visit.

Since Betws is such a nature-loving area, there is never a shortage of outdoor clothing stores. So if you’re looking for the perfect winter outdoor clothing, you’ve come to the right place. You will find a variety of shops throughout the town offering quality clothing and equipment for the whole family. From safety equipment to camping and adventure gear, there is nothing you can do without in this village for outdoor gear.

The village is impressive in all seasons, but the Christmas season in Betws-y-Coed certainly has a magical atmosphere. The atmosphere of night shopping in the area is unique, especially at the gateway to Snowdonia where Christmas is so special.
