Elsa and Anna toddlers Easter egg hunt
Every year, the hillside in Carlsbad, California, comes to life with the spectacular flowers of the Flower Fields. It took six to seven weeks, starting in early spring. What were once just a few acres of flowers has grown over the years to 50 acres of giant Tecolote barnacles in a variety of colors, a miniature rose garden and the Walk of Fame, which features all the winners of the American Rose Selection and a vibrant labyrinth of fragrant, colorful sweet pea blossoms.
Easily accessible from I-5, the Flower Fields in northern San Diego County are a popular spring vacation, whether for a day or a weekend and attract large crowds to visit and photograph the spectacular display. The entrance fee allows you to leave and return the fields the same day, so you can visit nearby restaurants for lunch or dinner, depending on the time of day. For those who want to buy bulbs and flowers, there is an Armstrong nursery at the entrance. The avid shopper will find an outlet shopping center right next to the fields.
During this time there is usually a calendar of events, on some weekends there may be handicrafts fair, the Canon Camera Company may hold a macro photography workshop, master gardeners may be present with answers to your questions, a day for music lovers, with the sounds of bluegrass, the Easter celebration and a special day of fun and activities for the children, these are just a few of the various events planned, which vary each year.
Sights, not far from the flower field, and of particular attraction for families are
Legoland with rides, shows, and attractions for the whole family and the first water park in the world. Next door is the Sea Life Aquarium Park with the replica of the lost city of Atlantis, a statue of Poseidon, a seven-foot Lego submarine, and a diver made of bricks.
The San Diego Wildlife Park with plenty of opportunities to explore its vast expanse – ride on a flatbed truck with the option of feeding rhinos and giraffes in their natural habitat; fly on an airline across the park or take a Segway X2 on a unique cross-country ride and see Asian and African animals up close. Then there are two versions of the overnight program, one for adults only and one for families.
